MySQL Databases with EB IT Support LTD

You can manage your MySQL databases, create new ones, and access existing ones through your hosting control panel.

1. Viewing Your Databases

To manage your databases:

  1. Log in to your hosting control panel at:
  2. Navigate to MySQL > Databases in the sidebar.
  3. You will see an overview of your existing databases.

2. Creating a New Database

To create a new database:

  1. Click on Create Database at the top right of the databases overview.

  2. Fill in the required fields:

    • Database Description: Provide a name or description for the database.
    • Password: Set a strong password.

    The database name and username will be automatically generated.

  3. (Optional) Choose to have the database credentials emailed to you.

  4. Click Create to finalize the database setup.


3. Accessing an Existing Database

To manage your database contents:

  1. Use phpMyAdmin, accessible via the control panel:

  2. For connecting your software (e.g., WordPress, CMS, or forums) to the database, use the following settings:

    • Port: 3306
    • Hostname: 127.0.0.1 (or localhost)
    • Database Name: The name of your database (e.g., web1sql1).
    • Username: The database username (same as the database name).
    • Password: The password you set when creating the database.

4. Updating an Existing Database

To update database details:

  1. From the database overview, select the database you want to update.

  2. Click the edit icon next to the database.

  3. You can:

    • Update the database password.
    • Change the database description.
  4. Save your changes to finalize the update.


5. Deleting an Existing Database

To delete a database:

  1. From the database overview, click the red delete icon next to the database.
  2. You will be prompted to confirm the deletion.
  3. Confirm by clicking Yes.

Warning: Deleting a database will permanently erase all data stored within it. This action cannot be undone.


Tips for Managing Your Databases

  • Always back up your database before making significant changes or deleting it.
  • Use strong, unique passwords for database security.
